Jaipur The Lodge B&B

Me and my partner absolutely loved this place, it felt like a little safe haven from the sometimes crazy streets of Jaipur! Goru, the owner, (apologies for the white person spelling) and the staff, were so so welcoming and kind. We had a nightmare with an overnight sleeper bus leaving Jaipur and they allowed us to come back very late at night seamlessly with no stress after a very stressful evening. It genuinely felt like a home away from home. The rooftop view and delicious food was just an added bonus!! Thank you 🇮🇳🧡

The people are very nice, the room is pretty and comfortable and the restaurant is also pretty good ! A few downsides but that's ok ! Be careful with the restaurant, the preparation time can be quite long, even for simple things. If you are in a rush (less than 30 minutes), make sure to tell them. The hot water was not working during our two first days, which was annoying but they fixed it for the third. The location is great (in the pink city) but then it is difficult to find a tuktuk from there because of how crowded and touristic it is.

The property is clean. The staff is very friendly. Great location. The owner makes you feel right at home. He surprised me with a cake on my birthday. That was very nice. Thank you so much. The food in the Restaurant is so tasty. If I return to this city, I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it.

We stayed an extra 2 nights here as it was easy & chilled out. The location is excellent you can walk to most things very easily. The rooms are large and clean. The bed is comfy. The TV doesn’t work but I carry an hdmi so can connect to my phone. There was hot water all the time which isn’t a given in India. There’s also a lift to the 4th floor so only 1 flight of stairs to get to restaurant/ lounge area. It nice to just hang out there, playing cards, chatting to other travelers or you can watch Netflix on the TV. Staff are really nice, the manager Guro (sorry don’t know how to spell ) was really chatty, had some great conversations. He loves his work, he’s also a great cook. The food there is excellent quality. And the beer is cold (again not a given in India) . Great view from up here. Though this is on a side street so quieter there were dogs barking most the night, so bring ear plugs. (But I wouldn’t come to India without them & an eye mask) This place is well run & clean that’s why we stayed 4 nights instead of 2. FYI. The hotel is on a side street & it was muddy everyday which meant you had to go down a different side street to get to the main road which was full of cows & their empty bowels (if you know what I mean) it’s only a few mins walk but it was very smelly)

Cool chilled oasis in the heart of the Pink City This was our second stop at the start of our 3 month trip around India (after foggy Delhi) and we loved it. This place is brilliant. Location fab! A few minutes walk through the bazaars to City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. Bustling vibrant (safe) streets full of action, shops selling everything right on the doorstep of this friendly guest house. Rooms were clean, big and comfortable- ours 503 had a great view over the city. Up on the roof is a fabulous restaurant with a terrace - with a great view over the city and up to Amber Fort. There’s a very sociable vibe up here- travellers sharing adventures (over a beer), swapping stories and enjoying our host’s excellent cooking. The pumpkin curry was to die for. Each night we devoured “food cooked from the heart” freshly prepped that day so each meal was different. Breakfast is a choice - either Indian (paratha and pickles with curd) or omelette and fresh fruit. I loved the “paw paw” / papaya each morning and the masala tea. If you’re looking for an easy going relaxed place in beautiful Jaipur, come here. Highly recommend!
